No, I didn't run into a tree. I used the tree as an anchor
against which to brace my truck to winch others up the hill.
By the time everyone was up this final obstacle it was dark and we
had a truck with jury rigged steering. Nevertheless, upon finding the
gate at the end of the trail locked, all 11 trucks did the proper thing
and turned around, heading back down the winch hill and back through 7
kilometers of trails, in the dark, to the entrance.
