We continue cautiously on hoping the patchy fog will lift, but
it settles in and overtakes us. The knife-edge nature of the
ridge is evident in this photo. We think we were almost at the
col just to the west of Knight Peak. But since we couldn't
take a compass bearing and there was a good chance of
descending into the wrong valley, we abandoned the traverse and
followed the ridge back to Cheam. The Cheam Traverse must wait
for another day.
